The Partnership recognises that of all the challenges facing our most disadvantaged communities, improving educational attainment has the most potential to act as a catalyst for other change.
During 2009 the Partnership consulted with key stakeholders in education in this part
of the city to develop a plan for tackling the inequalities that persist in education and the low levels of aspiration that prevent many of our young people achieving their potential.
‘Getting Results - an Education Strategy for East Belfast’ presents a picture of the current state of education in East Belfast and the key challenges faced by schools, parents children, communities and other stakeholders in Education.
The Strategy sets out a Vision for Education and outlines how we expect the education services to develop in East Belfast to ensure that all our children and young benefit from the best education and are supported by their parents and their schools to reach their full potential.
While expected changes to the governance structure for Education in Northern Ireland have been delayed we are continuing to use the Strategy to influence the future direction of Education provision for East Belfast.
Our briefing paper on Education provides an at glance guide to the main education issues in East Belfast.
