There will be a series of talks taking place in EastSide Visitor Centre next week (Monday 12th- Friday 16th March).

These #ShipyardStories will reveal more about the men and women who helped shape our maritime heritage.

Our latest piece of street art in east Belfast is now complete. Linenopolis was created and painted by street artists Nomad Clan who were commissioned on our behalf by Seedhead Arts. Nomad Clan, a duo from Manchester, worked in subzero conditions to install the street art and we are delighted with the results. 

Anthony Toner plays his first #EastSideSession at EastSide Visitor Centre as part of the continuing promotion for his latest collection, Ink. The acclaimed album finds the Belfast-based songwriter in top form on a series of stripped back, acoustic-based songs dealing with the big themes of love, loss and happiness.

EastSide Learning are holding their annual Children's Reading Fair 9th March 1pm -5pm at Skainos. 

During this free event, parents can access information and advice on how to support their child's reading while your children can enjoy activities such as storytelling, drama workshops, iPad fun, rhyme time, face painting and literacy themed dress up. 

You will also be able to take some books home from the ever popular Giving Library.

The Connswater Community Greenway project is one of two east Belfast building projects which have been shortlisted in the prestigious RICS Northern Ireland Awards 2018.

The annual awards recognise exemplary built projects, and the teams behind them, that contribute positively to Northern Ireland and this year the awards have seen the highest number of entries in their 28 year history.

The latest EastSide Session features Michael Cunningham, a singer-songwriter from Belfast. He has just released his debut album “Hidden Treasure” and is playing an intimate, unplugged gig, in the EastSide Visitor Centre on Friday 2nd of March.
 
His music is a blend of memorable melodies and heart-tugging lyrics. He is joined on the night by Shane McVicker on keyboards and vocals.

Young people from Bloomfield and Orangefield took part in a street art workshop on Sunday organised by Seedhead Arts.

They learned some spray skills and techniques from local street artist Emic, contributed to a group artwork and made their own piece using stencils to take home. 

Sadly the Wardrobe Jam event due to take place this weekend in C.S. Lewis Square has been cancelled. Unfortunately given the nature of this outdoor event and current adverse weather conditions this was the only course of action to best ensure everyone's safety.

The Home Project 2: Food for Thought showcase will take place on Friday 9th February in St Martin's Church. 

The Home Project is an intercultural arts programme which has been  exploring the theme of food and its role in different communities in east Belfast. The project is a collaboration between EastSide Arts and intercultural theatre company Terra Nova Productions.
