George Best House to open doors for #ehodni

George Best House will be one of over 300 properties opening it's doors for this year's European Heritage Open Days in September. This is the 19th year that Northern Ireland has taken part in European Heritage Days which has now expanded to 53 countries and regions across Europe.

Many of the properties, like the George Best House, are not normally open to the public so this really is a chance to explore places that you haven't before.

The George Best House, 16 Burren Way, is the childhood home of footballing legend George Best. George lived in the house in the Cregagh Estate from age 2 until he left for Manchester United FC, aged 15.

Our property development company Landmark East, purchased the property in 2011 to preserve the legacy of the east Belfast legend. The house is now self-catering accommodation allowing fans and visitors to experience life in the house for George before he left to join Manchester United in 1963. The house is decorated with interesting mementos, replicas, stories and images about George’s life, his family and his football career.

The George Best House will be open on Saturday 10th September, with tours taking place at 10.30am & 11.30am (lasting 25 minutes).

Unfortunately all our spaces have BOOKED OUT for the tours.

You can enjoy many #EastSide tours and building during European Heritage Open Days including; HMS Caroline, Titanic Taster Photography Tour, Titanic Taster Wee Tram Tour, Public Records Office of Northern Ireland, St Mark's Parish Church (Dundela), Screening of The Frankenstein Chronicles in Campbell College, Campbell College, Belmont Tower, Stormont Castle & Templemore Baths
